Start Location: Start at the intersection Of Silver Lake <br>Road and Soucy Rd in Clayburg. Clayburg is about 20 <br>miles (132.2km.) west of Northway Exit 37 in Plattsburgh. <br>Stay on NY Rt. 3 to Clayburg and cross the bridge at the <br>confluence of the North and West Branches Of the Saranac<br> River. Soucy Rd. is about 0.2 miles (.3km) South of <br>the bridge. There is room to park 8-10 cars: <br><br>This scenic ramble takes the rider <br>though Clinton, Franklin and Essex Counties, going up <br>the North Branch of the Saranac River to Onchiota and <br>Vermontville and returning along the West Branch of the <br>Saranac River. Spectacular views in all directions from the <br>top of Norman Ridge and a curvy six-mile scamper down <br>the Permanent Rapids Of the West Branch and Franklin <br>Falls Pond are highlights. The Rt. passes below the dam <br>at the base of Union Falls Pond and bisects the Nature <br>Conservancy's Silver Lake Bog Preserve. The preserve <br>features a boardwalk across the bog to a short trail to <br>bluffs overlooking Silver Lake. An Adirondack <br>Classic! <br>
